Eyebrow Care & Lamination Tips

The BriskNPosh's senior estheticians are sharing professional details and knowledge about eyebrow care, coloring, enhancement, threading and lamination.

What is brow lamination?

The Brow Lamination is a new service that styles and straightens the brows in an upward direction to give the illusion of fuller/fluffier brows. It is provided by very few salons and is a good substitute for microblading or semi-permanent eyebrow services

Who is a good candidate for brow lamination?

Anyone who has sparse brows, unruly or curly brow hair. Any hair type is a good candidate but more noticeable results come from people with coarse hair

Is brow lamination safe?

Yes. The products we use are FDA approved and do not affect any internal organs or skin layers. It’s like a perm for your eyebrows.

What is the best brow lamination after care recommendations?

  1. Do not touch or wet your eyebrows for 24 hours including swimming or sauna
  2. No eyebrow makeup
  3. Use a brow conditioner daily to keep the brow hairs moisturized

How long does a brow lamination session take?

The brow lamination service session takes about an hour to complete. The process takes long because your brow therapist makes sure that each application takes time to let the products set into your eyebrows.

How does brow lamination work?

  1. First, your brow therapist will apply a cream to your brows that aims to “lift” up your hairs
  2. Next, your brow hairs are brushed upward to help pull them in a uniform vertical direction
  3. Then your brow therapist will apply a neutralizer to help seal your brows into place
  4. The last step is a nourishing oil to help prevent skin irritation and hair dryness that may be caused by the chemicals used during the perm

How often do I need to do brow lamination?

It is recommended that you come for a service every 3 months

Why choose eyebrow threading over eyebrow waxing?

With eyebrow threading you can get a more defined shaped, overall cleaner look and the thread doesn’t tug on your skin. Waxing can tug on your skin which causes premature wrinkles and sagging in the eyelid area.

Is threading good for my skin?

Yes, we only use 100% cotton thread. Which means even people with very sensitive skin can have the unwanted hair on their face threaded without having a skin reaction.

Will my hair grow back thicker and darker with threading?

No. When threading the hair is removed from the root so when the hair grows back it’ll grow in its natural state.

Does threading hurt?

As with any form of hair removal, you’ll feel some discomfort and individual pain tolerance plays a major role. However, it’s the Eyebrow Threading technique we use which is key to making it as comfortable as possible.

What is a color tweak?

A Eyebrow Color Tweak service is tinting the eyebrow hairs. Some people tint to match their hair color or to darken the hair for people with naturally light eyebrow hairs.

Will my eyebrows be too dark after a color tweak?

Your brow therapist will customize the tint to best suit your needs

How long does a color tweak last?

A color tweak can last anywhere from 2 - 3 weeks.

Will my eyebrows look thicker after a color tweak?

Depending on the desired look your brows can appear a bit fuller, however the tint doesn’t stain the skin for long it’s mainly to darken the hair.

Is brow threading better than brow waxing?

We recommend threading for brows instead of eyebrow waxing because threading is more precise for brow shaping and can also be less harsh on the skin above the eyelid.

In regards to facial hair, why choose threading over waxing?

There are a few reasons:

  1. Threading can remove all hair including the light vellus hair that waxing leaves behind.
  2. Threading doesn’t cause premature wrinkles or skin sagging due to tugging of the skin when removing wax.
  3. Threading is 100% natural using an all cotton thread to remove hair.

If I have very sensitive skin, should I do threading or waxing?

Threading is good for all skin types but especially for sensitive skin, there’s less irritation.

Can I apply makeup after waxing or threading?

Immediately after wax we don’t recommend putting ANY makeup on as it can clog your pores since they’re still open. However, for threading you can use a light mineral based concealer if necessary.
