What age is good to start doing professional facials?

Here at BriskNPosh we think it's best to start doing professional Skincare and Facials around 15 or 16 years old. This is when most people have already gone through or may still be going through puberty and facials can really help with preventing blemishes and really cleaning the pores. For middle age adults facials are good to help keep your skin healthy and glowing, it’ll prevent wrinkles and any sagging of the skin.

How often should facials be done?

We recommend that you come every 4 to 6 weeks to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. Depending on the type of facial, doing them regularly helps with cell renewal, collagen boost, and to prevent any fine lines or wrinkles.

Are there different types of facials that you should be doing for the season?

Yes! During the different seasons your skin can have different reactions. For example in winter most people's skin tend to be dry, so the facial you then get is to help with getting more moisture and hydration into your skin. In the summer because of the humidity most people’s skin can be a bit more oily, which will clog your pores. In this instance you would need to undergo a facial that helps to unclog the pores.

What are the best ways to help dry winter skin?

Lightly exfoliate skin once a week to remove any dead skin cells. Try using cream based cleansers and always fragrance free to avoid irritation. Use a vitamin C serum - which has many benefits including helping with dryness. The moisturizing is key! In winter it’s best to use creams rather than lotions. A heavier night cream will really penetrate and moisturize your skin.

How Often Should You Do a Facial?

What does a lack of water mean for skin?

Hydrate inside and out. Staying hydrated will rejuvenate your skin so it looks and feels smooth & soft. Skin that is well hydrated is less sensitive to irritants and germs that slip through the lipid barrier when the skin lacks moisture. A lack of water means less resilience and radiance, also more sagging. Drink more water and hydrate your skin on the outside with moisturizers that contain hyaluronic acid.

Is a skin cleanser important?

Use the correct cleanser for your skin type. For oily or acne prone skin, a salicylic gel or benzoyl peroxide wash 4-5 times a week.
